Tenants’ guide to renting
At Hancocks we pride ourselves on providing a friendly yet professional service to our tenants. It is recommended that you register on our mailing list so that you hear when a suitable property becomes available, subject to requirements.
Please see below list of our fees and charges in connection with the letting and management of a rental property.
Tenant Fees
Under the Tenant Fees Act 2019, before the tenancy starts the following are payable:
- Deposit equivalent to 5 weeks’ rent
- Initial Monthly Rent
During the tenancy, the tenant will be responsible for paying the rent and all utilities e.g. telephone and internet connections, television license and council tax.
Under the Tenant Fees Act 2019, permitted payments will also include, but are not limited to, damage as outlined in the Tenancy Agreement, reasonable costs incurred due to loss of keys or other security devices, reasonable costs incurred by breach of tenancy by the tenant(s), reasonable costs incurred by the landlord due to early termination of the tenancy, any changes in the Tenancy Agreement £50 inclusive of VAT), interest at 3% above bank base rate for late payment of rent as determined by the Tenant Fees Act 2019.
